Saturday thoughts.

It's Saturday... and I'm at home all day today. Such a blessing. I work often because I want to (and I need to right now), but it's so nice to be at home on the weekend. It's been a crazy week... but I was just thinking about all the good stuff I've been loving lately, despite the crazy stuff in my life right now.

* The mild weather here in Southern California. Today was such a beautiful day, you really couldn't ask for a better one.

* Watching the triplets at dance class. So stinkin' cute. I've been missing the last few classes, maybe a month's worth, so it was nice to see them in all their ballerina cuteness this morning.

* Scrapbooking, card-making and other art. I amaze myself with the fact that I have been making time to have fun with all my goodies. In fact, tonight I'm gonna work with Julia to create stuff for the house. I can't wait.

* Friends who I can REALLY open up to, like Melissa and Karen. It is such a blessing to have people like them in my life. The older I get, the more I value true friendship in my life. Thanks, chicas. (Although I'm quite sure neither of you are reading!)

* Family connections. Seems like the family unit is doing pretty well. With two teenagers and three preschoolers, it isn't always the case. But things are pretty good here and that makes me feel so good.

* Apple pie a la mode. We had famous Julian Apple Pie, warmed and topped with Breyer's Vanilla ice cream last night. Besides the fact that it tastes heavenly, it also reminds me of our family trip to Julian, CA a couple of years ago with my parents. Such a good time. I think I'm gonna go check the fridge to see if there's any more left...

Just thinking about all the goodness around me helps me to get through the challenging times. And days like today are so awesome.

Have a great weekend, and don't forget to change your clocks before you go to bed tonight!
