Early in the morning...
... and after the kids come downstairs...
It was such a great Christmas!

90°
Today is the official 1st day of Winter. It was 90 degrees today here in the inland areas of Southern California. You read that right... 90 degrees. The surf is high along the coast, up to 20 feet in some areas.
With the exception of Hawaii, where we hope to live again someday, I can't think of any other place I'd rather live.
I'm not a cold-weather person so this is totally working for me.
The weatherman says that on Christmas Day we should expect a high in the 70-degree range. Right on!

Isn't she Lovely?
Isn't this the prettiest darn electric mixer you've ever seen? I thought so. Meet my brand-spankin' new Kitchenaid heavy duty mixer in a lovely shade of Pistachio...
I took this picture yesterday right before I used it for the first time. It took me so long to use this thing... I actually bought it almost 2 years ago, but I thought it would be just too much trouble to take it out, get it dirty, clean it up again, etc... Boy, was I wrong. I think this is the best invention since sliced bread (and the iPod, of course)... Made my Christmas baking a heckuvalot easier, that's for sure.
I'm only halfway through my baking though, so I don' t have pics to share just yet. I ran out of butter and flour. So I'll resume my work tomorrow and show you all the results when I'm all done. I actually can't wait to get back to work!

Command Christmas Party
Last Saturday the girls and I attended a childrens Christmas Party sponsored by my husband's command on Camp Pendleton. There was food, drink, crafts & movies for the kids, jumpy houses, and of course... Santa. This is how close my triplets would get to Santa...
Presents or no, they just didn't care for Santa at all.
They preferred to stay within arms reach of the big red guy.
After Santa completely left the building, I got this shot...
I guess there will be no picture with Santa this year. Have a look at the last 2 years' pics:
Is it just me, or is there a pattern beginning to develop that shows that things are just getting worse?
